MU53 SC79 DREE-ELLE'S RETURN

"Dree-Elle's Return" is one of my favorite episode; I like it for many reasons:
-the episode feature only 2 evil warriors and both of them are really well animated, specially Clawful got some of the finest animations you can ever see in the wole series.
-the heroic warrior who save the day is Orko helped by his girlfriend Dree-Elle and his youg brother Yuckers, a really amusing character.
-and last but not least the Filmation-created Eternian magic item called 'Evil Horn': a powerfull instrument wich even the Sorcerer's magic can stands!
Today we have a fantastic shot of Clawful holding in his claw both Orko and the Evil Horn!

MU73 SC92 ORIGIN OF THE SORCERESS

Here we have one of the most recognizable scene from the episode and all the series ;^) ..I often see this one on varoius MU forums when talking about "the 3 horde invaders".
In this scene the 3 invaders are deciding the fate of Eternia and to be precise Rachney propose to "invade in force!" (of course before being stopped by Morgoth :D )
In the episode the 3 characters are never named but in the drawing of this scene we can discover their names: Rachney (the spider-like one, with mustache), Repta (the reptile) and Ferros (the feline one).

In the episode MU73 we are introduced for the first and only time to STRIDOR , mechaincal steed built by Man-at-Arms. During the episode this 'robot/vehicle' become a sentient being after the battle with the evil wizard Morgot.

"Origin of the Sorceress" is one of the most important episode in the Filmation series and of course in the MotU continuity..as you know in this episode we see for the first time the ancestors of the Evil Horde and we discover who The Sorceress really is before becoming the keeper of the secrets of Castle Grayskull.
In this cel we see Ferros, one of the 3 first Horde to walk on Eternia . You can even admire the fabulous layout drawing featuring Zoar, flying in circle in the sky behind!

Today I'm gonna post one of my favourite cel from some reason: it's a group of Heroid Warriors all together featuring some of Filmation created character like King Barbo (really cool!) and Professor Orion.
They are all happy, smiling, and the 2 contendent have just signed a peace treaty!
so take your time and enjoy this 'closing scene' from episode 80!

Dopo qualche giorno di inattività ritorno a postare una delle mie celle preferite, non tanto per l'impatto visivo ma per quello che rappresenta: He-Man che va a fare visita a Granamyr insieme a Man-at-arms. Questa è la scena in cui He-man spalanca la porta del castello di Granamyr con le ombre che si all'ungano all'interno dell'edificio.

La cella di oggi segue quella del post precedente: David 'trasformato' e tornato alla sua vera età.
Anche qui il disegno è pieno di indicazioni, incluso uno schizzo dell'anello.

Questa cella rappresenta David, protagonista dell'episodio in questione, mentre indossa l'anello che lo riporterà alla sua vera età e gli darà il potere per poter regnare e proteggere il suo popolo.
E' una cella che mi piace particolarmente e il disegno che l'accompagna è ricco di indicazioni scritte in blu, incluso un disegno-modello dell'anello.

La cella seguente è tratta dall'episodio MU58 "The once and future Duke" dove appare il cattivo di turno Count Marzo. Questa cella è molto carina perchè riunisce insieme ai classici Heroic Warriors anche i 3 personaggi creati dalla filmation per questo episodio: Count Marzo, il suo draghetto e Duke.

Questa è una delle mie celle preferite..un bellissimo primo piano di Screeech !!
La versione Filmation è molto diversa dal giocattolo Mattel..si tratta infatti un un rapace-cyborg gigante con una specie di computer sul petto :))

Qui di seguito 2 celle sempre dall' episodio MU41;
nella prima, la SC161 Stanlan circondato da delle creaturine di Shokoti mentre nella seconda -la SC247 Ram-Man e Stanlan si nascondono per non essere schiacciati dal piedone del mostro verde che appare nell'episodio: lo "sleeping beast".

Per iniziare posto la cella "MU41 SC71" dell'episodio MU41 "House of Shokoti part 2"
In questa prima cella vediamo Ram-Man che si nasconde dietro un riflettore e Stanlan, ragazzino che appare se non ricordo male sempre insieme a Melaktha (l'eroico archeologo di Eternia)



di questa cella ho anche il Layout drawing, il disegno preparatorio della scena..
questi disegni sono molto interessanti perchè molto spesso sono più dettagliati del disegno che poi comporrà la cella finale

Benvenuti nel mio nuovo blog dedicato alla serie animata della Filmation "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" .
In questo spazio posterò di volta in volta le foto della mia collezione di Animation Cels dell'omonio Show come piccolo 'tributo' a questa fantastica serie con la quale sono cresciuto.. Sperando che il mondo di Eternia non si spenga mai, come recitava la canzone del Film 'Il Segreto della Spada': "we have the power, so can you!" iniziamo!!!
