Black Beard is one of the evil warriors of Monteeg that appears in episode mu57. As his name suggest he is inspired by the famous pirate, but Filmation redesigned him to look more futuristic and called him "space pirate" (as you can read on the drawing!).

Today's cel is for another cool Filmation character only, Hannibal with his elephant.
I really like this character because of his classic armor and the fact that he is riding an elephant.
An interesting fact about the elephant cel model is that it's taken directly from Filmation's Tarzan show.

This cat is King Paw's spy, a simple but cool and effective character created by Filmation.
The first thing that struck my attention when I saw that character is the fact that this cat has a slim body and not massive like the majority of MotU characters and also I remember I tought that his eyes and mustache gives him an asian resemblance.

Hi again guys, let's take back episode mu81 "The Arena" with a cel showing 3 Goblins
from Tataran's army hitted by a ray-beam: you can note the black paint in both
sides of the cel..this due because of a method of animation used to do the 'flash' effect!
You can read it by yourself in the note wrote directly on the drawing by the artist for the painter!

Today's cel is for the King of Cat People: King Paw! Being the king of a feline race, Paw resembles much more a lion than a cat. A nice Filmation character,he is not so menacing looking and makes me think of the cowardly lion of Alice in Wonderland!

What a cool character is General Tataran! Here you can see both him and Skeletor (just his hand and his leg!) This cel is drawn like if the viewer is located just behind Skeletor's throne of bones (from a low angle), a really nice idea! And in front of Skeletor we can see Tataran and his body guards: one is tall and the other is a short goblin with some asiatic resemblance (note his mustache and armor). Finally we can notice that even Tataran's chair is made of bones!

Guys, take a look to this super cool Lizar Rider Goblin! Both Lizard and Goblin are so Filmation Style, I really like this cel! What a great work have done the Filmation artists!

Here we have a great Filmation created character, a villain: General Tataran!
The design of Goblin's General is really really cool and is a little strange because is pointy/beck face remembers in some way a turtle.
The color scheme used for the Eternian Goblins is perfect: gray/green skin and brown armour.
So let's go with Tataran!

In today's entry we continue with episode "The Cat and the Spider" with a nice cel of Kittrina the nice Eternian feline woman. You can see how the Filmation artist drew Kittrina's cheeks wider to give her a greater cat-resemblance.

Here you can see her fighting with Webstor (called Webster during the series) which has stolen the Grimalking statue, that belong to Cat People.
